Discover Japan’s favourite everyday snack at Bite of Burnaby! Often called the “soul food” of Japan, onigiri (Japanese rice balls) are a classic comfort food—perfect for school lunches, picnics, and easy meals at home.
In this family-friendly, hands-on onigiri workshop, Samurice will guide you through the essentials of making great onigiri from start to finish. You’ll learn how to cook Japanese rice to fluffy perfection, explore a variety of unique and creative fillings, and practice shaping onigiri by hand—an easy, fun skill you can recreate in your own kitchen.
All ingredients and tools are provided, so you can jump right in and enjoy a delicious, interactive experience together.
No cooking experience is required—just bring your appetite and enthusiasm! Whether you’re new to Japanese cuisine or looking for a meaningful activity the whole family can enjoy, this omusubi workshop delivers a memorable cultural and culinary experience.
